Spotify is a popular audio streaming platform that offers both free and premium plans. Since its launch in 2006, it has amassed over 356 million active users. Over 158 million of these are paying customers. In the Philippines, premium membership plans cost Php 129 per month.
If you wish to cancel a deceased's Spotify premium membership, you may do so through the following steps:
Contact Spotify Support.
You can inform Spotify's administrators through their support form. Indicate that you're canceling an account for a deceased loved one. Within 48 hours, they should respond with the steps for deleting the account. Their support team usually responds within 48 hours.
If you do not receive a response from Spotify, you may also contact them through Twitter or Facebook.
Follow Spotify's instructions.
Spotify should send you an email with the instructions for removing the deceased's account. Prepare proof and documents that you have the authority to delete the person's account on their behalf.
But if you know the deceased's account details, you may log in using their username and password. Then, follow these steps to delete their account entirely and to cancel the Spotify membership:
- Click the About link at the bottom of the website or application.
- Click the Contact Us option in the Customer Service section of the About Us page. Next, select the Account category from the Contact Spotify page.
- On the following screen, select the topic "I wish to terminate my Spotify account permanently." Then, click Close Account on the next screen to permanently close the account.
- Click the Close Account button on the "We're sorry you wish to leave us" page.
- Spotify verifies that you want to terminate the account. Continue by pressing the Enter key.
- In a verification message delivered to your email address, you must click the "Close My Account" button as your final step.
