Instagram also allows the memorialization of a deceased person's account.
Instagram also has the option for memorialization and deletion of accounts. Like Facebook, Instagram requires proof of death before they memorialize an account. Memorialization will not give the requester the deceased account owner's login information.
Memorialized Instagram accounts:
- cannot be logged into.
- has "Remembering" next to the name of the account owner.
- retain the deceased's Instagram posts, including images and videos and remains
Be prepared with the following information when filling up the memorialization form:
- Full Name
- Your email address
- Deceased person’s full name
- Deceased person’s username
- Documentation of death
- Exact date of death
